Pande has been associated with IRIS as a member of the scientific review committee (SRC) till now. He has also been actively involved in motivating the city students to participate in fair but until now only two students, Swati Soman from the Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Civil Lines (2008), and Shireen Jaiswal from Centre Point School (2009) have made it to the fair in last three years. "Besides routine teaching-learning process I have always been looking for hidden qualities in students in which they can excel. IRIS has tied up with 55 science laboratories in the world so far. "It is a matter of pride for city that IRIS chose to tie up with Hislop College in 2006. We are the third institute in country after Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) to get the recognition. To get the opportunity to lead the Indian team is a matter of pride for me and college," Pande told TOI.
